Weight loss
guided by
medicine.
For adults living with overweight or obesity, willpower alone often isn't the whole answer. Hormones, metabolism, sleep and medications all play a role, so we start by measuring them.

Why weight can be so hard to move
Excess weight isn't a character flaw. Appetite hormones, insulin resistance, thyroid function, poor sleep, stress and some prescriptions can all push the body to hold on to weight, even when you're doing a lot right.
Medical weight loss treats obesity as the chronic health condition it is. We look at the biology behind your weight, then build a plan you can actually keep up with.
Three steps to your plan
- Step 1
Blood panel
A comprehensive lab draw sets your baseline: hormones, thyroid, metabolic and other key markers.
- Step 2
Consult
Dr. Di Santo or his nurse practitioner reviews your results with you and builds a plan, or explains why treatment isn't needed.
- Step 3
Follow-ups
Scheduled re-checks of labs and symptoms, with any dose change made only by Dr. Di Santo or his NP.
What a plan can include
Every plan is personal. Depending on your evaluation, it may combine several of these.
Lab evaluation
Metabolic, thyroid, hormone and cardiovascular markers to find what's working against you.
Nutrition guidance
Practical eating changes built around your routine, not a crash diet.
Activity & sleep
Realistic movement and sleep goals that support steady progress.
GLP-1 medication
FDA-approved weight-management options, such as semaglutide- or tirzepatide-based medications, for patients who qualify.
Ongoing monitoring
Regular check-ins to track progress, side effects and labs.
You may be a candidate if
Your BMI is 30 or higher
which is the clinical definition of obesity
Your BMI is 27 or higher
along with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure or prediabetes
You've tried before
and the weight keeps coming back
You want medical support
rather than another program on your own
An honest look at results and risks
Results vary. Progress depends on your biology, your plan and how consistently it's followed. We don't promise a number.
Medications have side effects. GLP-1 medications commonly cause nausea or digestive upset, and they aren't appropriate for some people, including those with certain thyroid cancer histories or pancreatitis. We screen for these before prescribing.
Supervision matters. Doses are started low and adjusted only by Dr. Di Santo or his nurse practitioner.
Medical weight loss questions
Do I have to take medication?+
No. Many plans start with nutrition, activity and treating underlying issues. Medication is an option only when you qualify and it makes sense for you.
Who decides if I qualify for a GLP-1 medication?+
Dr. Vinson Di Santo or his nurse practitioner, after reviewing your history, labs and current medications.
Will you check my hormones?+
Yes. Thyroid, metabolic and, when relevant, sex hormones are part of the initial panel, since they can all affect weight.
How often are follow-ups?+
Regularly, especially in the first months, so dosing and the plan can be adjusted safely.
What does it cost?+
Pricing is discussed during a paid consultation. Call (305) 514-0318 to schedule.
