Pain relief
without
controlled drugs.
Ongoing aches and pain can wear down sleep, mood and energy. We look for what's driving your pain and build a plan using non-controlled medications and practical, everyday strategies.

Our approach to pain
Pain is a signal, and the most useful first step is understanding what's behind it. Inflammation, joint wear, muscle strain, nerve irritation, poor sleep and even hormone or metabolic changes can all play a part.
We start with a careful history, an exam and lab work when it's helpful. From there, Dr. Vinson Di Santo or his nurse practitioner builds a plan aimed at easing pain and helping you function better day to day.
We do not prescribe opioids or any controlled substances. Pain treatment uses non-controlled medications only and is determined after your evaluation by Dr. Vinson Di Santo or his nurse practitioner.
What a plan may include
Treatment is determined after your evaluation. Depending on your situation, a plan may combine several of these.
Anti-inflammatory options
Non-opioid medicines that target inflammation, used at appropriate doses with monitoring.
Topical treatments
Creams, gels or patches applied where it hurts, with less effect on the rest of the body.
Other non-controlled medicines
Non-opioid prescription options chosen for your type of pain and health history.
Movement & activity
Guidance on gentle exercise and stretching that supports recovery.
Sleep, weight & lifestyle
Addressing factors that can make pain feel worse, from sleep to metabolic health.
Three steps to your plan
- Step 1
Blood panel
A comprehensive lab draw sets your baseline: hormones, thyroid, metabolic and other key markers.
- Step 2
Consult
Dr. Di Santo or his nurse practitioner reviews your results with you and builds a plan, or explains why treatment isn't needed.
- Step 3
Follow-ups
Scheduled re-checks of labs and symptoms, with any dose change made only by Dr. Di Santo or his NP.
What to expect
Relief, not always a cure. Many types of pain improve with the right plan, but some conditions are managed over time rather than fully resolved. Results vary.
Referrals when needed. If your pain needs imaging, a specialist or a procedure, we'll tell you and help point you in the right direction.
Safety first. Doses and medication changes are made only by Dr. Di Santo or his nurse practitioner.
Pain management questions
Do you prescribe opioids?+
No. We do not prescribe opioids or any other controlled substances. Our plans use non-controlled medications and non-drug strategies.
What kinds of pain do you help with?+
Many everyday and ongoing pain concerns, such as joint, muscle and back discomfort. Your evaluation determines whether our approach is a good fit or whether a referral makes more sense.
Will I need lab work?+
Sometimes. Labs can reveal inflammation, vitamin or metabolic issues that affect pain, and they help confirm which medications are safe for you.
Can I continue my current medications?+
Bring a full list to your visit. We'll review everything to avoid interactions.
What does it cost?+
Pricing is discussed during a paid consultation. Call (305) 514-0318 to schedule.
